Freshman Athlete Manages to Make Big Strides
The aerial acrobatics of Mars Hill’s new freshman high jumper are executed with one astonishing characteristic -- he has only one forearm. Cody Eckard, a native of Hickory, N.C., lives with his handicap so well, his talent is not overshadowed. Eckard said he lost his arm as an infant, when he was two days old.

Chappell Rose Starts Making Music
In between cooking a late night dinner and preparing to watch the Cleveland Cavaliers play, Chappell Rose is glad to discuss his up-and-coming sideline. Known primarily as a student-athlete, Rose has picked a second hobby, music and rapping. He’s part of a group called GTC. He says he didn’t go about it intentionally.

Number 8 Jonas Randolph played last year behind MHC seniors George Washington and George Stripland, so he didn’t see much playing time. But this season, Randolph was the featured running back. Despite of all his record setting, Randolph still thinks the season could have gone better. Next fall he wants to be even more productive and finish on a better note -- the playoffs.
