The Black Student Association hosted a school talent show late last month with cash prizes and more entertainment than Moore Auditorium could handle. The stage was graced by the talented faces of more than a dozen Mars Hill College students.

From dancing to singing to an Elvis impersonation, the night of Feb. 23 was packed with talent. At the end of the night, only one could win the title and first place prize.

Trey Mayberry came in first with his performance as Elvis Presley. He won $100 and received a trophy for his win.

Sarah Richardson, a theatre major, sang her way to second place, receiving $75.
Third place was awarded to a group of MHC swimmers, Michael Wilkes, Luke Hoffman, Jared Toro and David Moore, who called themselves Hill*Sync.

They danced to N*Sync’s song, “Bye, Bye, Bye,” and got the crowd going crazy. They earned $50 for their third place win.

The event is named after the famous Apollo Theater in New York, which has historically provided a venue for talented unknowns to perform.
